About the Role

As a Software Engineer at oneD, you will help build and enhance the technology foundation behind Thailand’s leading streaming platform. You will develop, maintain, and optimize applications and services across Mobile (iOS/Android), Web, Smart TV, and Backend platforms, delivering seamless and high-performance experiences to millions of users.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Teams, QA Engineers, and fellow Engineers to build features that support content discovery, video playback, personalization, subscriptions, advertising, and user engagement across all devices.

Key Responsibilities

💻 Cross-Platform Frontend Engineering

  • Develop and maintain user-facing applications across iOS, Android, Web, and Smart TV platforms.
  • Build reusable UI components, shared business logic, and platform-specific experiences while ensuring consistency across devices.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate UX/UI designs into responsive, accessible, and performant user experiences.
  • Optimize application performance, rendering speed, startup time, navigation flow, and video playback experiences.
  • Ensure compatibility across different browsers, mobile devices, TV operating systems, and screen resolutions.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture, state management, component libraries, and design system implementation.

🎬 OTT & Video Experience Development

  • Build and enhance features supporting content discovery, search, recommendation, watchlists, subscriptions, and playback journeys.
  • Integrate video players, DRM solutions, subtitle systems, and streaming technologies across multiple platforms.
  • Ensure smooth playback experiences and consistent feature behavior across Mobile, Web, and TV environments.
  • Collaborate with backend and platform teams to optimize content delivery and user experience.

⚙️ Backend & Platform Engineering

  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs, services, and backend components supporting streaming, subscriptions, personalization, and platform operations.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable services following modern software engineering principles.
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical solutions that support business growth.

⚡ Performance, Scalability & Reliability

  • Optimize frontend and backend performance to support growing traffic and content consumption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, API, and production issues.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability best practices.
  • Support platform scalability, reliability, and operational excellence initiatives.

☁️ Cloud, DevOps & Infrastructure

  • Develop and deploy applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation.
  • Work with containerized environments and modern DevOps practices.
  • Support infrastructure and deployment improvements that enhance engineering productivity.

📊 Data & Analytics Integration

  • Implement event tracking and instrumentation across Mobile, Web, and TV applications.
  • Ensure accurate analytics data collection for user behavior, content engagement, subscription funnels, and experimentation.
  • Collaborate with Data teams to support personalization, recommendation, and business intelligence initiatives.

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, Data Teams, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Participate in technical design, estimation, sprint planning, and release activities.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve platform capabilities and user experience.

🚀 Agile Development & Quality Assurance

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and development processes.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and maintain software quality standards.
  • Follow secure coding practices and engineering guidelines.
  • Continuously improve code quality, maintainability, and system performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in software development for digital products or consumer applications.
  • Experience developing applications for one or more of the following platforms:
    • iOS (Swift)
    • Android (Kotlin/Java)
    • Web (React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js)
    • Smart TV (Android TV, tvOS, Tizen, webOS, Fire TV)
  • Strong understanding of frontend engineering concepts, application architecture, state management, and API integration.
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with modern development frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience building applications across multiple platforms using shared frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, or similar technologies.
  • Experience in OTT, streaming, AVOD, SVOD, or large-scale consumer applications.
  • Familiarity with video playback SDKs, DRM, CDN optimization, and streaming technologies.
  • Experience with Firebase, GA4, AppsFlyer, Crashlytics, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of personalization, recommendation systems, experimentation, analytics, and monetization platforms.
