Quality Strategy and Leadership<\/p>\n
* Define and execute oneD\u2019s overall QA and quality-engineering strategy.<\/p>\n
* Establish quality standards, testing methodologies, release criteria, and governance across all platforms.<\/p>\n
* Build, lead, coach, and develop internal and outsourced QA teams.<\/p>\n
* Create clear accountability for product quality across QA, engineering, product, design, and external development partners.<\/p>\n
* Represent quality risks and recommendations in product and release decisions.<\/p>\n
End-to-End Platform Quality<\/p>\n
* Oversee testing across:<\/p>\n
* iOS and Android mobile and tablet applications<\/p>\n
* Smart TV platforms and connected-TV devices<\/p>\n
* Web applications<\/p>\n
* Backend systems, APIs, CMS, authentication, payments, and advertising technology<\/p>\n
* Video playback, DRM, subtitles, live streaming, VOD, and content delivery<\/p>\n
* Ensure a consistent user experience across different operating systems, devices, screen sizes, network conditions, and application versions.<\/p>\n
* Develop device-coverage and compatibility-testing strategies based on audience usage and business priorities.<\/p>\n
Test Planning and Execution<\/p>\n
* Own functional, integration, regression, performance, compatibility, usability, accessibility, and security-related testing.<\/p>\n
* Ensure critical customer journeys are thoroughly tested, including:<\/p>\n
* Registration and login<\/p>\n
* Content discovery and search<\/p>\n
* Video start-up and playback<\/p>\n
* Live-stream access<\/p>\n
* Subscription and payment<\/p>\n
* Advertising delivery<\/p>\n
* Continue Watching, watchlists, and viewing history<\/p>\n
* Introduce risk-based testing to prioritize the most business-critical functions and user journeys.<\/p>\n
* Establish structured defect-management, triage, escalation, and root-cause-analysis processes.<\/p>\n
Automation and Quality Engineering<\/p>\n
* Define and expand test automation across UI, API, backend, and device testing.<\/p>\n
* Integrate automated tests into CI\/CD and release pipelines.<\/p>\n
* Improve test coverage while reducing repetitive manual testing and regression time.<\/p>\n
* Partner with engineers to promote testability, unit testing, integration testing, and early defect prevention.<\/p>\n
* Evaluate testing tools, device labs, monitoring platforms, and external QA services.<\/p>\n
Release and Production Quality<\/p>\n
* Define release-readiness criteria and provide clear go\/no-go recommendations.<\/p>\n
* Monitor production quality using crash data, playback errors, customer feedback, operational incidents, and platform analytics.<\/p>\n
* Lead quality reviews after major incidents and ensure corrective actions are completed.<\/p>\n
* Identify recurring defects and work with engineering teams to eliminate their root causes.<\/p>\n
* Maintain clear dashboards showing release quality, platform health, and outstanding risks.<\/p>\n
Cross-Functional Collaboration<\/p>\n
* Work closely with Product, Engineering, UX\/UI, Content Operations, Customer Service, Data, Marketing, and Commercial teams.<\/p>\n
* Participate early in product discovery, requirements definition, solution design, and sprint planning.<\/p>\n
* Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are complete, measurable, and testable.<\/p>\n
* Coordinate effectively with outsourced development and QA vendors.<\/p>\n
* Translate customer complaints and operational issues into actionable quality improvements.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
* Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.<\/p>\n
* At least 8\u201312 years of experience in software QA, quality engineering, or software testing.<\/p>\n
* At least 3\u20135 years of experience leading QA teams or managing a QA function.<\/p>\n
* Strong experience testing consumer-facing applications across mobile, web, and connected devices.<\/p>\n
* Experience with OTT, streaming, media, e-commerce, fintech, telecommunications, or another high-traffic digital platform is strongly preferred.<\/p>\n
* Demonstrated experience building QA processes and automation frameworks.<\/p>\n
* Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, CI\/CD, cloud platforms, analytics, and production monitoring.<\/p>\n
* Experience managing outsourced teams and technology vendors.<\/p>\n
