About the Role<\/b><\/h2>\n

oneD is looking for a <\/span>UX\/UI Designer\u00a0 Contract<\/b> to support the design and improvement of our OTT streaming experience across <\/span>Smart TV, Mobile App, Web, and Connected Devices<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a <\/span>4\u20136 month contract role<\/b> for a senior designer who can work independently, understand streaming user behavior, translate product and business objectives into practical design solutions, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ideal candidate should be strong in <\/span>UX thinking, UI craft, product specification, data-informed design, Figma, AI-assisted design workflow, and OTT platform experience<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This role requires working <\/span>5 days at the office<\/b> to ensure close collaboration with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/h2>\n

UX\/UI Design for OTT Platform<\/b><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Design user experiences for OTT streaming platforms across Smart TV, Mobile App, Web, and connected devices.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work on key product areas such as Home, Content Detail Page, Search, Player, Continue Watching, Subscription, Account, Live TV, and other core streaming journeys.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, UI screens, and design handoff documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Translate product requirements and business objectives into clear UX solutions and polished UI.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ensure the experience supports content discovery, engagement, retention, and subscription conversion.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Adapt design patterns based on platform-specific behavior, such as TV remote navigation and mobile app interaction.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Product Specification & Design Documentation<\/b><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Support the creation of product specifications, UX notes, interaction rules, and design documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Define key user flows, edge cases, empty states, error states, loading states, and interaction behavior.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure design solutions are feasible and clearly documented.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Prepare clear design rationale and presentation materials for internal reviews when needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Data-informed Design<\/b><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Work with Product and Data teams to define data requirements for design validation.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Translate product and UX questions into measurable tracking needs.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Support the definition of success metrics for key journeys and features.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Use available data to identify friction points and inform design improvements.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Support event tracking requirements for key OTT journeys such as Home, Search, Content Detail, Player, Subscription, Account, Continue Watching, and Live TV.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        AI-assisted Design Workflow<\/b><\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Use AI tools such as Claude AI, ChatGPT, Figma AI, or Figma Make to support design workflow, UX writing, documentation, research synthesis, ideation, and product specification.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Explore AI-connected workflows, including MCP-related workflows, to improve product context, documentation, design handoff, and team collaboration.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Apply AI responsibly to improve design speed, quality, and decision-making.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Required Skills<\/b><\/h2>\n

          Design & Product Skills<\/b><\/h3>\n
            \n
          • 5+ years of experience in UX\/UI Design, Product Design, or related fields.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong experience designing digital products, preferably in OTT, streaming, media, entertainment, subscription, video, e-commerce, or content platforms.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong UX thinking with the ability to translate requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UI.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong visual design sense with attention to typography, spacing, layout, hierarchy, components, and interaction states.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Experience creating or working with design systems, components, variants, and responsive layouts.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong product thinking and understanding of user behavior, usability, business impact, and technical constraints.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Ability to write or support product specs, UX notes, interaction rules, and design handoff documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong communication skills and ability to explain design decisions clearly.<\/span><\/li>\n

            Tools & AI Workflow<\/b><\/h3>\n

            • Strong Figma skills for UI design, prototyping, design systems, and developer handoff.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Experience using AI tools such as Claude AI, Figma AI, or Figma Make to support design, research, UX writing, documentation, and product specs.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Familiarity with MCP or AI-connected workflows<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Comfortable using Jira, Confluence<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Data Analytics Understanding<\/b><\/p>\n

              • Ability to design based on business objectives, user behavior, and available product data.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Understands how to define design hypotheses, success metrics, and data requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Able to collaborate with Product and Data teams to identify tracking needs for features and user journeys.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Able to interpret basic product analytics and translate insights into UX\/UI improvements.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Familiar with product analytics concepts such as CTR, conversion rate, drop-off rate, retention, time to first play, search success rate, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, event tracking, and A\/B testing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • Smart TV Design:<\/b> Experience designing for Android TV, Google TV, Apple TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, or other connected TV platforms, with strong understanding of 10-foot UI, focus states, remote navigation, safe area, readability, and player controls.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Mobile App Design:<\/b> Experience designing for iOS and Android apps, with strong understanding of mobile UX patterns, app navigation, onboarding, subscription flow, content discovery, and video player experience.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Cross-platform OTT Design:<\/b> Ability to design consistent but platform-appropriate experiences across TV, mobile app, and web, while adapting design systems and interaction patterns for different devices and user contexts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    • Experience working on OTT, streaming, video, media, entertainment, or subscription-based products.<\/span><\/li>\n
